I am a pharmacist, who decided to retire at 60, so I could partake in long distance walks and hikes, while still healthy and capable. I have been hiking for over 20 years and have learned to appreciate the natural, unspoilt beauty South Africa has to offer. To kick off my new decade, I walked the Camino Frances and that experience changes a person's life, outlook and priorities. Upon returning, I read about the Eden to Addo Corridor hike. A seed was planted in the back of my mind to be able to hike it in the not too distant future. In doing the Eden to Addo hike, I want to add my support to the the organizers in their efforts to protect widlife by establishing a corridor, which allows animals to once again move freely in their territory like they once did. My dream is about to become reality, and with it hopefully the Eden to Addo Initiative will get closer to achieving their goal. One step at a time, one Rand at a time.
